Hey guys first time poster....was looking for advice on a 3rd combo. Currently have a ls beast on a 9'3 xh evx which I use as my bucktail rod and a komodo 364 on an 8'6 xxh evx which I use for jerks/gliders, topwater and plastics(up to mags). I have an extra rod which is a 8'6 evx xh and need a reel for it. Was looking at a toro s but the gear ratio looks close to the komodo. Wondering if I should go with a hs tranx 300/400 as I'll be maxed at 3 combos. I'm not partial to any brand just looking for advice from more experienced members.

I think I'd figure out what this particular combo would be used for 1st. Then get a reel that is well suited for that presentation/lure type.

Your 8'6" rod that you are looking to put a reel on is the same action as your 9'3" rod. What do you want to throw with it that you do not on the longer rod?

I paired the beast with the 9'3 just for the fact of easier 8's with it....i would use the hs reel for better slack line p/u for jerks and gliders and burning dbl 8's easier. Just really don't want to have 2 "do all" type reels

I'd look at a high speed reel for ripping rubber bait, i use a high speed beast 61 for this, and it doubles as an awesome reel for double 8's. The high speed tranx 300 or 400 would also be a great choice. You'd have 1 reel in lower range, 1 in the mid, and 1 in the high range, which covers you for everything.
