I'm looking for a source for the heavier #8 blades for making double 8 bucktails. Does anyone know the blade source for Spankys or Dadsons? I've heard they start the best.

Thanks

all the good blades came from lakeland or worth, hagen.have not fish with the brand that you talk about but .40 are really not the best to easily spin.a good easy spin clevis inspected to make sure its shaped like a c is the way too go..40 don't help at all,it's worst

Make sure to get the magnum and not standard in the 8's from Lakeland. They are a touch bigger and run very well. That would be called the Mag 7 from Worth. Good blades.

The last time I tried to place an order with Lakeland they told that they no longer sell to individuals unless they have the federal tax ID for a business. This was sometime last year. Have they reversed that?

That could be, they have been all over the place in the past couple of years. I see on the newest catalog that if you don't have a 637 on file that they will charge the 10%. What I was going for was that some retailers carry the small 8 and not the magnum. I think Rollies might, and Tackle Concepts has either the Worth Mag 7 or the Lakeland Mag 8. Just a better blade.

Be careful when buying 8 or smaller colorado blades. There is one style of blade that does not work. Hagens carries that colorado. The rest of their blades are great. It is a very round flat thin blade. Less tear dropped than most colorado blades. They just don't spin. Single, double, even tried them doubled with other blades. Very tough to get them to start if they do at all. I even put one on a spinnerbait and didn't work well.
