Hi, I was wondering if anyone here has any experience using a Jawbreaker custom rod. They look pretty nice but I can't find any reviews, thanks.

I've heard they are a complete nightmare to deal with.

I had a 9' jawbreakerfor blades, it was WAY to soft in the tip for my tastes in the 8. Depends on your preference. If you want a fast action with a stiffer tip I would look elsewhere. If you prefer a heavier rod with more of a medium feel in the tip you will probably love it.

Not to be confused with the ToothTamer Jawbreaker line which are excellent.

Thanks for the replies. Swpamuskyhunter, do you remember what power yours was? I was leaning towards an 8'6 mh for up to medium size blades and topwater, but maybe I should be looking for something a little heavier

You can't find any reviews because they wipe the reviews clean off the record. Absolutely horrific track record of customer service complaints, as bad as you will find in the entire industry. Look elsewhere

Sent you a PM in order to leave this thread up. In short, don't do it. Horrible people to deal with.

Not to be confused with ToothTamer Jawbreaker as noted above.

not in regards to jawbreaker but general comment on custom rods... Custom rod builders often use blanks from a variety of rod manufacturers so you'll need to research each type of blank they use in order to make an informed decision... a MH is not just a MH because theres several different MH blanks out there and all of them perform differently.

Two different businesses here....

Jawbreaker rods by Toothtamer: Great rods and well worth the money...

Jawbreaker Custom built rods: ...He can build what you want on various rod blanks including Tackle Industries, SC, and other rod blanks. He has had some delivery issues in the past per mike's advice above..... Just my opinion but contact him and work out a payment plan for your rod for delivered rod to your door per payment plan and expectations... I have a few of his custom rods and I love them. They did take a while to get but they are nice. And yes, they were built on TI blanks and I own TI so that may have been my advantage...

I have a couple of jawbreakers that I had built for kayak fishing and love them. I've heard people say they have had issues but I have never had a problem with them. Might help that I live 5 miles away so I just go to his house to work with him. He's also replaced a couple of eyelets for me on my St Croixs for free.
