I've had this unit a few years and it's been giving me problems this season. The depth readings are crazy. It will read out the sonar but won't stay locked in to a depth range it just bounces all over. And now it has started freezing up often.

I tried other cords and I even tried a buddies graph with the current cords and his unit worked just fine so I know it's not a cable issue.

I also reset to defaults, reloaded the update, took the update off, tried different battery, tried with chips in and with chips out and I'm getting the same results. I'm thinking at this point it has to be a hardware issue in the graph.

Anyone else ran into something like this?

Ducer is good tried it on another unit. Humminbird wants $400 to refurbish so I'm hoping to avoid that route.

Are you moving or sitting still when your sonar is acting up?

I thought that might be an issue too, so I have tried it with motor off and motor running and still getting same results. This graph is not hooked up to the starting battery for my motor either, as I initially thought it was a voltage issue.

They have tutorials on their website for updating the software. You need to have a Micro HD Chip. It is not hard at all.

$400 to refurbish? I don't think you'd get a whole lot more than that if you were to sell the unit used. I would take that $400 and put it towards a new unit if that is what it came down to.

What transducer are you using? are other graphs on? Same lakes as before? Hard bottoms may make this worse. Try adjusting interferance rejection/ noise rejection a setting higher or two. Lower the sensitivity 1.

Well an update... it magically started working again the other day when I plugged it back in. But I have a feeling it's going to happen again.
