Posts: 60 | This is my first spring fishing for muskies, and I'd really appreciate some advice. How important are water temps? Say you're fishing a big bay. If one part of the bay is 55 degrees, but a different part is 60 degrees, do you even bother fishing the colder area? Does your answer change if there's only a 2-3 degree difference between the warm and cold areas? If you find a spot with bunch of muskies swimming around it, do you sit there all day if you keep seeing muskies? Yesterday, over a period of four hours, I saw maybe 10 muskies swimming through a spot, but they weren't interested at all in any baits. This might sound dumb, but I was wondering if they go to my spot when they don't feel like eating. Thanks.

Location: Eastern Ontario | My opening day strategy is to stay home let everyone go back to work and fish Tuesday or Wed. Every spring is a little different but muskies will generally give away their location start shallow and if you don't see fish move deeper don't spend the whole day fishing like locations and not seeing fish. Avoid community spots where you have to take a number to fish.

Posts: 1209 | I attacked the last three openers, first one stunk saw one good fish under a dock, the next everywhere we went we moved a fish every 50 casts saw well over 100 fish only fooled one at sundown tho. The next we saw 3 fish. As far as water temps go in not as fortunate to have such a swing to consider, but I would look at maps and decide where all fish would spawn. And I would assume muskies would be between there, they are either rapping up, or starting to spawn and they eat the other fish that have spawned or are eating other fish eating the fry.
