Well, I'm curious what everyone's favorite glide bait is? It's hard to pick just one, but I'm going to go with David Jones' lineup of gliders from Widowmaker Muskie Lures. They have a nice wide glide and killer hang time, especially his Deadhead and Tailchaser. The options are only what I'm familiar with, if you like some custom bait or something that is not listed, I'd like to hear about it. Thanks.

There are a ton of good glidebaits out there that are not listed that would not be at all considered custom. Modivators are one of my favorites. Hughes Rivers are great, also not listed along with mainstream gliders like a magic maker. Had to look up a shum shum, me a guy who has over 100 glide baits! Cool looking bait.

HR's have been hit or miss for me. Seems about 1 in 5 have that special something. Phantoms are consistent, but have not produced much for me. On the less traditional side, the wild action Wabull has a permanent place in my line-up. I have one prototype that just plain gets bit by everything that eats.

I have an original wood Mania Magic Maker that works perfectly. I need to toss it more frequently.

I always go with the 6" softail phantom. I've definitely noticed that anything over 6" with the softail doesn't "swing" 180. So, I go with 7.5" regulars the bigger I use. Just my 0.02.

Tough to pick just one though. I love a Manta Hang 10 and have a hang 10 specific Rod with one always tied up to the custom, permanent leaders I tie on them. The other is a Rove...that thing is "stupid proof." No need to twitch the Rod, just turn the reel handle and it gliiiiiiiiides beautifully.

I love warlocks, it constantly moves fish for me. Now I just need to figure out what to do to get them to eat the darn thing!

I've had relatively little experience and success with gliders, but I have always loved the action of the squirko. Side to side and up and down action depending on the retrieve.

Hmmmm..... What changed? In my own research on this topic it seemed like everybody really liked musky treats or hottails. This forums I was looking at were from a few years back. That makes me wonder if musky treats or hottail changed something. The reason I mention this is because I was thinking about getting a few. I'm too new to muskie game to know if they were made differently before or if there's another reason they are less liked now.

Mantas, especially Surface Skimmer almost like topwater WTD. Easy to work.

Hellhounds are my favorite, followed by Phantom Softtails. Both are simple to work and catch fish. Jerkbaits are probably my least favorite baits to throw, but in coldwater gliders are tough to beat. I have one hellhound that has caught close to 40 fish on it.

Sam I thought the same but I think that they will be just as good - may be easier to get reinforcements now at the least!

Thanks darbogast90 Had a great weekend at the tourney I had a 40 get out of the boat on me Sat morning before I get her pic on the bump. If I would of got to bump her I would of been in the top 10 I know they only go 3 places but it would of been cool to know I placed that high out of all the good anglers fishing the tourney. Plus this was my 3rd year fishing it and the 2 I caught were the first fish I ever caught in the tourney

squirley phantoms for cold fronts and cold water, helhounds over weeds and summer as it works better fast, hellpupies for deeper weeds. I also like the 10" squirley phantom in open water in summer.

I wish suick would make the small wabull with the tail. They should make that bait.
