| My dad had an 01 non tiller and it was sweet, a great boat to fish from. Only drawback was lack of storage in my mind. |

Location: Detroit River | I looked into buying the 617 a few months ago & one of the cons I found was that the gas tank is in the front making it bow heavy & taking waves over the bow in rough water. |

| I fish out of my buddies dual console 617 quite a bit. It can definitely spear waves in the big stuff, but not a huge concern. The worst part about it is that dang raised baitwell on the front deck. Nice boats to fish from |

Location: Twin Cities, MN | I just started year number 11 on my 617 from 2002.
It has been a great boat for me ( dual counsel ) with an Optimax 150 on the back.
The tank is in the front, but have never speared a wave or had any issues with rough water myself. I run a High 5 prop which does a great job at slower speeds and most of my fishing is on the St Croix river, or smaller lakes, the biggest I fish is the Big Chip. I have had it out on Mille Lacs a few times though.
A little short on storage, yes, but otherwise I have been very happy with it.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
