I was hoping some of you guys might have an answer for me i have a 99 Ranger 690 with a 175 EFI and an 05 mercury 4 stroke 9.9 kicker has stock aluminum propeller 8.5 p I primarily use this motor for trolling. Top end is just over 5mph I was wondering if there is a prop with a different pitch i could get to gain an extra 1 to 1.5 mph top end without raising rpm , thanks!

Hiya,

Not sure it would get you there, but you might find a high-thrust prop for it that might help out as the ears are bigger... with 4 blades instead of 3, rpms should not go up, but speed might be a wash...

If you go up in pitch from your 8.5 that you have now, rpms most likely will go down, so all that is happening is lugging the motor.

Something to look at below...
