I'm looking to stay around Cass Lake the third weekend in July. It'll be a mix of vacation and pre-fishing for the PMTT that I'm thinking about doing there at the end of August.

As I've never stayed in this area, I'm looking for recommendations on a place around Cass Lakei for myself, the girlfriend, and 20 pound dog. I'd prefer somewhere with cabins you can rent for a reasonable price. Doesn't necessarily need to be on Cass Lake, just within 15 minute drive or so.

Thanks!

Cass Lake Lodge only accepts week long rentals. Which seems to be pretty much the story of every resort up there, which makes sense. And the resorts I have found that do shorter stays, don't allow pets. Not looking good. Might have to figure out another plan.

You could look in to renting a cabin off VRBO or Airbnb. We've had good experiences doing that for past fishing trips.

You could try Stony Point Resort on Cass. I've stayed there a couple times. We've only ever camped but they have cabins also. You can camp with a tent or bring your RV if you have one.

Check out their website:

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Unfortunately I literally called every resort around there and either they were already full or would only accept week long rentals. Going to a plan B.

I stayed at little wolf lake a few years ago and folks there were very nice. Maybe do a search there, it wasn't too heavily trafficked and may fit what you r looking for. Cases a little bit away but worth a look

You could stay at Knutson Dam or South Pike Bay campgrounds.

This is an old subject but if you stay somewhere off lake, pay, launch and park at a resort,,Cass lake public landings have had their share of trouble.

So is the public access REALLY as bad as its made out to be? With that big newer access along the highway I would have thought it was ok, or better now.
