Hello gentlemen,

I was just curious what one should be willing to spend in order to keep their boat stored inside, year round and under 5 miles to their homewater. I have an opportunity with my buddy who leases a plot on a campground where they offer boat storage. He asked me if I'd go half on his lease to be able to store my boat. It is under 5 miles to the reservoir I prefer to fish so I think I may go for it. I believe it makes economical sense once trailering, travel wear & tear and the gas savings are factored in. Am I correct in my assumptions? Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

Thanks.

I would say location is the key. I keep my boat at home in the garage in summer stor it in winter I've played 150 to 250 for 5 mouth term . What seemed high in one place is cheap in others. It's all bought location. Make some phone calls for the area you want to store your boat and go from there.

Depends. Do you have a place to store it where you live? If so I would rather keep it there. That way it's always available no matter where you choose to fish. Plus if your like me there is always something to "tinker" with when not on the water so I like having my boat at home. If this is your only storage option then that's a different story

Location, ease of access and what it's worth to you is all that matters. I pay 50$ a month with electricity covered. Good deal for a 36x30 garage to myself. It's probably worth 130$ a month just gotta figure it out for yourself.

I pay 250$ from whenever I bring it to them in the late fall till whenever I want to pick it up in the spring. Nice thing is that it's only 7 miles away.

My one friend who owns a bait shop stored mine during the winter for $250 including shrinkwrapping which turn into him just storing it inside lol it's still there but I do not want to put that on him all year. From what I gathered here, it's worth splitting the lease with my other friend. It'll be less than $50 a month and I'm up north every weekend and it's within 50 miles of any other lake I do fish plus is also right down the street from my boat guy and my Homewater. Plus, I also do not have a place where I live to store it Thank you guys very much for the insight, as always!

Guys, keep in mind either of those guys are my friends who happened to be in a position to help me. The campground does not sell storage unless your on a lease, pay for utilities on a trailer on their lot, pay taxes, etc etc. I will be splitting a lease with my friend just to be able to help him and store my boat indoors.

I have a buddy who pays $80/month for his own storage garage. He can come and gi as be chooses so this isnt a like having it be 3 deep in a barn all winter long

I was also thinking about this option but the storage garage prices around me are stupid expensive for whatever reason. Just curious whether or not your friends storage garage is heated and includes the utilities. I haven't priced out storage garages more towards where I prefer to store it but if I could get one at that price with the utilities included, it'd be a no brainer. I am happy I get to help my friend out though so 500 a year will do for this year. I'm also glad it is not 3 deep in a barn. Their storage was well thought out and not many lease holders have boats for whatever reason.
