i currently have an elite 7 on the dash, id like another one on the bow connected to the Xi5 but dont want to spend $400-700 on another.

its like the motorguide document is outdated online, it doesnt list the newer models that will work with this motor. Im not going to be using the gateway btw.

Im looking for a cheaper plain sonar/gps, nothing special if someone can recommend one for me please and thanks.

Hello again so I just bought another used elite 7 chrip and I think I may have jumped on this purchase too soon after seeing hds5 gen 1go for $200ish.

I'm wondering if the cheaper hds5 would do the job I'm looking for at half the cost?

Any help would be great all.

I've seen used HDS gen 2 units go for pretty cheap on the flea market on Facebook. I'm sure a gen 1 would work fine for using the sonar.
