heard some stories about the etecs that concern me, anybody familiar with this year and size?

on a boat i like, but just worried about the motor, says it hasnt had any problems, under 300 hours on it..

thoughts please??

Shouldn't be any issues at all. Some of the bigger blocks 2-250 were the ones to be concerned with that I would choose to stear clear of

I previously owned an early 2000's 115 ETEC for several years and it had no issues at all

^^^Exactly. It was only the early big blocks that had issues but that can be said for any motor(optimax). I had a 05 90hp that I believe is the same block as the 115 and had zero issues. Mine had like 500 hours when I got it.

what about EMM issues? reading a lot about that online..
