I'll be fishing Manitowish June 24th-25th. Where is the best place to stay? It doesn't have to be on the water. I'm looking for something on the cheaper side. I don't know what lake or lakes we'll be fishing. From what I understand Manitowish has a variety of different lakes ranging from deep to shallow and stained to clear. Is this right? Thanks for the help in advance.

Nothing cheap in mani waters. I would suggest staying in mercer or Minocqua. Couple hotels in Boulder junction. The chain get super busy as soon as schools south let loose and all the tourists are up here. I suggest early and late in the day. Do some research and find smaller out of the way waters to fish mid day.

There are also a few private cabins you can find on VRBO. I have staying on the channel between Stone and Rest which was nice seeing that is is calm there and your boat doesn't get bounced around. If you do a search you will find it. Small white cabin.

Pea Patch is reasonable and there are a couple spots on the channel between Rest and Stone. One used to be called Hillcrest Resort.

I stayed at a resort on the river between rest and stone lakes. Small place i think they just had a house and a cabin. Nice and reasonable. Something bear resort i forget the name. Worth staying there.

I fish the chain regularly in the summer months. If you have some questions on location, lakes, or patterns leading up to your trip feel free to PM me or message me on facebook. Places recommended to stay are in line with what I advise for people.

You might want to check out Voss'. It has been probably seven years since I was there last so see if they are still renting rooms. It was on the cheaper side for sure. I've stayed there a few times and it is what it is. Voss' is on Hwy 51, on Spider Lake, with docking for guest's boats. You can launch 30 seconds down the road at Greer's Marina and get your rig back to Voss' until you take out. It is a great central location to hit a lot of the chain. As you saw, lots of different types of water/strcuture to try. They poured a really good drink too, at a small little bar. We'd eat at Skyview and go back to Voss' for nightcap(s).

Pea Patch was mentioned too. There are rooms to stay in and a bar. Depending on the moon phase (doesn't just affect fish), there have been and can be some interesting times at Pea Patch. Note......Pea Patch is near the Rest Lake landing. That is on the far NW end of the chain with a long no wake river between Rest and the next lake that you'd have to take 20-30 minutes to get through.
