The Muskie School returns for the 16th Year to be held at Waunakee, Wis. High School on March 18, 2016. 36 Classes will be offered this year including several new topics. We are pleased to present an opening Plenary session discussing fishing muskie in hot water and muskie mortality. This issue will be discussed with Tim Simonson a regional Wis. DNR fisheries biologist and Tom Penniston, former fisheries biologist and President of Wisconsin Muskie Inc Chapters. An excellent lunch provided at noon.

Abu Garcia and Fenwick Rod companies have donated an incredible 7 Muskie rod and reel combos this year for Door prize, Raffle and Super raffle.

This year we have instituted Online Registration for the school by Paypal or credit card as well as Mail in option registration. Go to capitalcitymuskiesinc.org main page click on Annual Muskie School tab and follow the prompts.

We hope to see you there!

If you have never been to this event before, you should go. I've been attending this for a couple of years now, and have yet to be disappointed. As I've mentioned thru the years ...the presenters are excellent, and are there to share info, not sell their latest "new magic bait" (you can get that at any sport's show). They've all been open to questions, and will give you their unbiased opinions based on tons of experience instead of profits. Along with all the info you can soak up, you also get an excellent lunch. This is by far the most helpful $35 I spend on this passion each year. See you there. Don

I attended last year for the first time and it was great. Very informative seminars with knowledgeable speakers. Some great raffles.

I drive from Illinois and it is worth every minute invested and a bargain to boot.

Get in on this school. Great bunch of instructors and all of us want you to get the most out of our classes. I will be holding the Southeastern Wisconsin class for the 11th year straight. Mostly Pewaukee Lake since I have grown up on that lake and been guiding it for over 18 years. Sign up and learnt he tips and tricks I use to catch muskies on pressured waters. I will also explain what baits and when to use them. I will even mark up a map for you after the class if you bring one with you.

Great school and trust me, you will be happy you signed up for the low cost of $35 bucks. It's a no brainer people. See ya soon.

I have gone the last 6 years and it is well worth the $.
The folks giving the classes are great and completely willing to answer your questions
And what I like best is they talk a lot of Madison but other areas as well so you don't have A guy talking about what works for him when he is in Minnesota and Canada when you fish in Madison all the time these guys talk about the area specificly .
And you get A great lunch as well
I would highly recommend to go to at least 1 of Jeff Hansons classes

T3Clay, We will giveaway 7 Abu Garcia Fenwick Combos during the Super Raffle. Three Combos in the Regular Raffle and at least one in the Door Prizes category. Two others in special giveaways that day. We encourage people to bring a little extra cash for the two raffles and/or a checkbook for the Silent Auctions as well.

Regular Raffle tickets are $2 a piece or 3 for $5. Super Raffle tickets are $10 a piece or 3 for $25.

Proceeds benefit the Muskie Angler Scholarship for Waunakee High School students as well as our Madison WI area Leech Lake Strain/Wisconsin Strain Muskie growth study.

Question about a "Beginners" Version. One of the 36 Classes is a Muskie Fishing Basics class which is always well attended.

Sign up by March 1 for the Two Gift card chances!

I would tell you that despite being called Intermediate to Advanced, this school has lots of info that can benefit anyone looking to learn about muskie fishing. Now if you have never fished before at all for any species, then this is perhaps not a place to start. But, if you have some fishing background with other species you really can't go wrong with 90% of the class choices.

This school is an absolute blast. It's one thing to be for an excellent cause, and quite another to be worth 5 times what they charge, which this is. Spend a few bucks on the raffle and you could go home with a new rod and reel, or one of an incredible number of other valuable muskie bling. You can pick your classes, and learn from some of the best out there, and wait for it...

The lunch is killer.

The Women Fishing Muskie Class is popular with students this year. Debbie Bernaden, Marie Simmer and Lorie Scherf will be presenting this topic. A dozen women have signed up to date!

The Sawyer County, Northwest Wisconsin Class has been canceled. Jim Stroede suffered a fall recently and is recovering but at a slower pace than he wanted. Those who signed up for his class may attend any other class that 2nd hour. Reel Repair and Rod Building classes are full however.

We still have room for 70 more!

Wow- this school is really incredible this year!! There are so many class choices you won't believe it. You still have time to take advantage of this opportunity by enrolling on line at WWW.capitalcitymuskiesinc.org (using PayPal or your credit card). You will come away with new ideas to try this season. Some will leave with some fantastic rod/reel combos, baits, tackle boxes, and many other goodies that are offered in the raffles. You will get plenty of food for lunch which always gets high marks. If you like chocolate chip cookies you will not be disappointed. There are a remarkable array of classes still available. There is no better place to be this Saturday if you want to get prepared and reduce your time spent between catches this season. This will sharpen your muskie fishing skills. The faculty has over 300 years of combined experience targeting muskies and these anglers have caught many, many muskies in all kinds of water and weather. You will learn new techniques and discover new ideas and will be glad you did your muskie fishing homework this season. See you on Saturday!!!

The title on my opening session is a bit off, what we'll be doing there is looking at and listening to the underwater world of the muskie, and learn what they really are reacting to when you finally get one to eat so you can replicate that and catch more fish. I haven't done the light penetration/color piece in years, it takes a room I can bring down to zero light or close, and the this one is perfect. Some behavioral discussion as well.
Should be fun!

For sure they have by far the biggest and best musky selection of anyone in this area. Have a lot of baits you cant find anywhere else. Lots of custom colors also.
When you go to the store the upstairs is hardware take the stairs outside to the right and go down stairs the fishing and hunting gear is the whole lower level.
Great shop and good guys working there. Well worth a stop for you- their normal prices are good and with the 20% off its a steal.

Softwater……Kevin Wallenfang had to cancel as Row Trolling Instructor due to unforeseen event. Jim Olson, from Ironmen and Wooden Boats fame will take his place and present the class.

Pepper….If you are anywhere near Dorn's Sport Shop in Madison, WI you had better stop in. Super collection of Muskie lures!
