Got a bad little loop wind knot in my line last couple weeks of season it's about 35 ft in,,too cold fingers to work on it that day so let it be.
I know I can reverse the line on reel
I'm thinking maybe a tiny pool of wd-40 and lay the knot submerged in it for a day and it might pull free under tension.
Or YOU have a better idea

I use a couple pairs of very fine needle nose pliers, gently tugging on the knot with one while holding the knot with the other. It's worked without damaging the braid...

WD40 isn't a lubricant per se, so if you're hoping to make the knot "slip" there must be a better choice.

I use cheap dental pics. Always have one in the boat. You can bend them into a tight little hook that's great for piking out knots and overruns.

Ditto.  They're invaluable tools, not just for this.

Best way is to put on gloves, wrap the line on each side of the knot around each hand and pull hard and fast...should come out! Works for me thanks to a tip from a muskie buddy. Never too old to learn...used to do it the hard ways mentioned above...NOT necessary.

Wrap the line around something (pliers, hook pick handle, etc.), hold the knot under water, and pull. Never had one not come out or damage the line doing this.

Have clients get a lot of these. Pretty much what Larry said will do it.
I don't use gloves I just wrap around each hand drop a little slack to each hand and give a very hard snap pulling them in opposite directions. 98% of the time they come out. Key is don't mess with the knot with your hands- just do the pull trick right away.

Is a wind knot the same thing as a "backlash"?

No, the backlash is is a knot dug into the spool, the wind knot is an in loop on the line that can be reeled up and let out.

Thanks guys I did what most enterprising Americans do ,,I used foreign labor,,, I asked a petite immigrant women at work with small hands to do it she had it gone in under 10 minutes. Pulling wouldn't have worked on this one.
