With a heavy heart I am passing along the sad news that our friend Terrie DuBe passed today at 3:45, losing her bitter battle with cancer.

Terrie was one of a kind, and will be missed terribly by friends and family. She was a Champion for all muskie anglers everywhere and worked hard to improve the sport.

MuskieFIRST offers our deepest condolences to all who knew her.

Sorry for your loss. I believe she is in very, very good company. I wish everyone well during this difficult time. She looks very peaceful in the picture.

Terri was a pioneer for women in muskie fishing and a valued member of the Modern Day Muskellunge World Record Committee and a personal friend. She was also a force for Muskie's, Inc. and on the tournament trail. She will be missed!

She was a great person. I as membership chairman for Cap City MI, dealt with her often and it was always a pleasure to do so. She was a tireless worker for MI. We will all miss her.

Prayers go out to friends and family.

I had the pleasure to meet and be on her team for the Gil Hamm Memorial Chapter Challunge. It was tough on her but she made it a point to be up there with all the Muskies Inc. -Twin Cities guys. She was super nice and just happy to be there. If I remember right she didn't go too far from Red Wing Lodge and had 40's swiping at her shallow invader (could be wrong on the lure) but never got hooks.

She will be missed.

Sad for sure.  I had the pleasure of working with her when I was on the International board and spent a day with her fishing on Pewaukee lk. in 2002.    She was truly a great person most of all!!!

My first meeting with Terrie was through a CB radio when I was a judge for the PMTT on Minnetonka. Terrie called me to register a big fish that her partner, Diana Mindar, caught. I don't know who was happier, myself or these two ladies. They did very well in PMTT rankings that year. Terrie sure helped Muskie fishing in Minnesota. Condolences to her family and friends. There are many tears being shed in Walker, MN tonight.

I first met Terrie about 1995 or so. She was the Chapter Secretary of Twin Cities Chapter of Muskie's Inc. She was a spitfire, full of fun and life, Short N Sassy as she named her pickup truck years later on. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone.

I remember she'd get all kinds of grief for being short, poor girl. When she had to give the Chapter Secretary report for the M.I. meetings she'd stand up to talk and invariably some wise guy from the back would yell out, "Hey Terrie! Stand up. We can't hear you." So after awhile of this she'd stand on a chair to talk and invariably some wise guy from the back would yell out, "Hey Terrie! Stand up. We can't hear you" I admit, a few times I was one of the wise guys. But she always laughed about it and took it in stride and knew our teasing came from a place of affection and not meanness because everyone loved and respected Terri.

Another favorite Terri story was one meeting night when Smokey Swenson was running an auction of lures to raise funds for the chapter. Terri, as usual, was busy conducting chapter business at the meeting so she only had a bit of attention to spare for the lure auction. Smokey would yell out, "I've got $10. for this lure. Who will give me $12?" Terri would yell out, "$12" Smokey would yell out, "I've got $12 bid for this lure who will give me $15?" Terri would yell out, "$15." Smokey had Terri bidding against herself and we all knew it but her. lol lol. Terri finally caught on to what was happening and gave Smokey a good piece of her mind. She also bought the lure for the higher bid price because it was for Muskie's Inc. and she was always a strong supporter of Muskie's Inc.

Terri went on many of the annual Chapter outings to Red Wing Lodge during the same time my wife and I went on those trips. We had many enjoyable campfire conversations with her. We'd talk fishing, of course, and we ask her where she saw or caught a fish and she'd say, "Out there by the island with the rocks and the pine trees on it." lol Gee thanks, Terri, for narrowing down the search for us! lol But like I said, she was a spitfire full of fun and laughter and could dish out the teasing as well as she took it.

Later when my wife because sick with brain cancer Terri was there with a kind word and a shoulder. When we made our last trip to Red Wing Terri would come over to our cabin to check on us and make sure my wife and I were ok. A few months later after my wife died Terri always had a huge hug for me and a smile. Terri Dube was a good friend with a kind and gentle heart.

She is missed.

My sympathy to her family.

I never met her but being involved with muskies inc, her name has popped up a few times, always in a good light. RIP.
