I used to bounce back and forth between Lake Link, The Nut, 101, and MH back in the day. Not sure when I found MuskieFIRST. I'd say 2004 or 2005 if I had to guess. Made some good friends. Probably made a few enemies along the way too.

This may come as a shock to some, but I'm quite literally banned from Lake Link.

You have to share that story!

That's a basement type story.

So put it down in the basement... Might it have something to do with the guys posting pictures of 28" muskies and calling them 42"? Or the guys who shared the fact that they caught an undersized out of season musky and how good it tasted?

From what I remember, Cletus and his cousin Cletus were the big players on that site...

I found out about Muskie.outdoorfirst.com since I was doing research for Muskie fishing. I am glad I found this forum since I learned a good amount of information that helped me catch my first Muskie. The Muskie was 43 inches long and she swam off strong when I released her.

I just sent PM's to those who helped me in my quest of catching my first Muskie. I had a great time fishing in Illinois. Illinois is blessed with great fishing and I will never forget my first Muskie.

That is very cool of you! I bet they appreciated that very much. You must be proud of yourself, too. I wish you the best of luck moving forward.

I asked my buddy while we were out fishing one day where he bought so much s***. He said musky first. Now with the amount of time ive spent at work searching the archives of information on here I could probably be the CEO of my company if I had spent that much time productively. Probably 90% of what I think I know about muskies is regurgitated M1 posts from years back. Im young in the musky game still and sometimes I still struggle to catch fish despite living on Lake St Clair, but I catch more fish than I did when I moved here 5 years ago, so that's a plus. Ive also made a couple fishing buddies from the site and They've taught me a lot, which is the best part. Thanks to all who contributed for so many years, those old posts still get looked at today by noobs like me trying to figure out how to get his next bite.

Thank you! Yes I am very happy since I caught my first Muskie. I spent over 2 months researching Muskie biology, locations, and tactics to catch Muskies. Muskies have been a bucket list fish of mines since I was 10-11 years old( I use to read books about Muskies and other North American game fish as a child and still do). I will invite those who helped me earlier, lots of good guys in this forum. I plan to continue fishing for Snook, Tarpon, Permit, Peacock Bass, Sharks ( Bulls, Tigers, and Hammers) and other Florida game fish in the meantime before my next Muskie Trip!
