Made my first bucktail tonight. Can you say saving money! Definitely didn't have the proper equipment on my first try though.

What is the best jig/form and why?

Also, I saw a really good video on how to use one, but can't seem to find it. anything helps,

Thanks guys

I've made hundreds of bucktails ,on .063" wire, with round nose pliers and a pair of locking vice grip pliers. No need for any jig, wire form, bender etc.

I've made 30 or so on .61 with the "dubro bucktail twister" it cost $70 and I never put it in a vise also there is you tube videos of how to. Now I damaged it by trying to make the wire shorter but that has been my only issue.

I use round nose pliers as well. Just cheap ones I ordered from Moore's. I couldn't find them the other day, so I used needle nose and they did the trick almost just as good! I've used benders, but it actually did a poor job and never used it again.

Side Note: I actually don't save money making my own because I just end up making way more bucktails than I actually need. It is pretty fun!

I don't save money either, I just buy one cut it apart for parts and make them heavier for my liking... Gotta support the economy haha
