Curious to see what everyone is using to attach grub tails on baits I have been using a small finishing nail and hammering it in the bait about a 1/2" then cutting the head of the nail off and gluing the tail on. This process works ok for a couple baits but a production run there has to be a better way. Thanks

Screw a drywall screw in part way--Cut the crew head off----The threads really help hold the rubber tail on. I sometimes still use some glue---keeps it on nice and secure.

I drill a 3/8 inch in the tail by 3/8 inch deep hole, I use a fastener bit, I use the large 6 inch Kalins Mogambo grub, cut the body at the last ring fits in the hole perfectly, squeeze in the hole with a flat screwdriver, a few drops of ca glue and it's good to go, I use to put a screw eye cut the head of the screw, but found out that the screw actually would tear the grub, works way better with out the screw, never had problem with the tail coming off

I haven't had any issue with the screw rusting as of now---2nd year using them---BUT YES---Maybe use the galvanized or Deck screws instead---they are meant to take the moisture and weather--would probably last longer.

can just use a toothpick... The water will swell it up when you're out there and I've never seen any issues with it. Also, it makes for a very easy fix while you're out on the boat and need to add anew tail.

Here is another option depending on the size of the tails. These are plastic and designed for drywall.
