Location: Lake Tomahawk, WI

With a 47.25, 40.5, and a 36.25, Matt and Ben Michlig were able to pull off a come-from-behind victory at the 2016 PMTT Fall Meltdown on the Madison Chain. They had the tie-breaker over second place team of Raley and Osfar by having the biggest one day total. Fishing continued to be great on day 2 with 21 fish registered, adding up for a total of 48 muskies for the weekend. Anglers were very impressed with the size structure of these Madison Chain fish. While a few fish were caught deep, most were in shallow weeds and taken on a number of presentations. Most of the successful teams concentrated on small, windblown areas where they had seen/contacted fish. The Championship will be on Lake Miltona in Minnesota in Late October.

Retired WDNR area and Fisheries Manager Scot Stewart deserves a lot of credit getting max number of muskies into the Chain and increased size limits. As with many DNR employees they are a very dedicated bunch. The Cap City Muskies Inc is very fortunate to have the quality techs at the DNR looking out for our fishery.

Congrats to the winners. Lot of big fish caught- crazy we caught 3 fish and didn't make top 10. got 3 other short ones also 1 was 1/4" short- that hurt.
Was fun anyway...

Congrats to the winners, certainly some impressive fish in the net! My guess is that folks will take another look at what's possible to catch on the Mad-Chain!
