I have been using Ace epoxy for years now. I haven't had any issues other than it gets spendy & it sets up too quickly at times. Definitely is limiting how much I can do at a time. I do like that it does not shrink or expand, perhaps it does but it has not cracked & bulged like I have seen on some baits. There must be a better choice, what works for you??? -Chris
Playmaker lures

Oh, & I know I've seen something on here fairly recently, but my search was not productive.... This is mainly for maple, but also a bit of cedar too.

Use a two part epoxy putty. Bonds like a rock and is sandable. Been using it for years without issue.

+1 on the two-part putty. You gotta wait a little longer for it to fully dry before sanding (at least the one i use), otherwise it can gum up on the sandpaper. Other than that, it's great... It dries up rock hard, and waterproof.

Two part epoxy putty is very good to fill in holes in home made lures and it is very easy to sand down.
