Posts: 1220 | Was talking to a kid that sits by one of my favorite ramps all summer trying to educate folks about invasive species. He guessed (educated guess) that the musky catch was off at least 50%. Later that day one of my favorite bait shop owners said he believed the weekly leagues on Eagle River and Three Lakes was about half of normal. I also believe that the Canada catch (LOTW and Eagle) had similar tales to tell. My take on this is that if you give any statistic enough time, it will prove true. So, my prediction is that we are going to have a terrific fall catch. Anybody else want to admit they had a crappy summer and have high hopes for fall??

Posts: 470 | Caught more fish before the boiling started than I did last year, so with any luck I can put a few more in the bag before it ices over...

Posts: 400 Location: Metro | I had a better summer this year than last year. Caught the same amount of fish in the beginning of summer before the boil as I did all of last years season. Can't wait for the weather to cool down and to wipe my calendar clean of activities. Strictly fishing this fall.

Posts: 4343 Location: Smith Creek | I had the kind of summer where follows were considered victories. My fish per hour goes up about 500% in Fall anyway so no big deal.

Posts: 10 | I had my best summer since I've started seriously targeting muskies 6 years ago. I caught the most fish but, more importantly I was consistently on fish all summer. When it comes to hunting and fishing I believe for everyone that is having their worst season somebody is having their best.

Posts: 400 Location: Metro | I believe for everyone that is having their worst season somebody is having their best. I couldn't agree with this more. I was having a really tough time last year and it seemed that a lot of people were doing really well. For me I just started fishing really hard for muskies last year. Every year I am going to be adding knowledge to the musky bank.

Posts: 1220 | Looks like pretty even on the numbers so far. My experience and those I polled personally suggested otherwise, but I may be mistaken!

Posts: 13 | Had a good year to start, didn't fish much until things cooled down. When it was hot in the metro I watched for cool temps over night north of the cities was able to get out those mornings when temps were in the low 70's and have multiple fish mornings then off the water as temps climed.
