Posts: 3 | For those of you who use glitter in your baits, do you use the spray glitter? i've been using the krylon spray on glitter in a few different colors, but i'm running into problems with it making craters in the epoxy. I put acryllic sealer on it, and even through 8 coats of this sealer the epoxy was still getting small craters. anybody else have similar problems? any suggestions? thanks in advance fellas

Posts: 10 | I mix my glitter with a gloss acrylic and just pour it over the lures with the eyes on then spin. Then the next day I put my epoxy coatings on. It works for me. One other thing the glitter by the next day sinks to the bottom and can pour the acrylic back into the can, or you can just put in a jar and use it again adding a little more glitter to it. esoxessentials - 8/28/2016 12:46 AM For those of you who use glitter in your baits, do you use the spray glitter? You could go to a gentleman's club and for a couple bucks have a dancer shake a nice even coat of glitter dust. Works great.

Posts: 908 Location: South-Central PA | The spray glitter I used did the same thing- huge mess with epoxy application. The next batch I did, I put on 4 good coats of Flex Coat Color Preserver for rod building and the epoxy went on as smooth as glass. You need a barrier between the glitter and the epoxy coat. Posts: 2219 Location: SE, WI. | Riley, here is a pic of a few splashtails I just finished. The acid frog , I OD'ed with fleck a bit . Flake was mixed in the clearcoat. And yes, if you add the fleck after clear coating, it seems to separated clearcoat from wood, and create a small crater. Yes I have used the Krylon glitter blast in certain situations, and had no ill effects after clear coating. JD
