| How compatable is this stuff with other products, needing something to seal before I start weighting my gliders? My paint will be rattle can for now and etec top coat. Thanks |

| If it's the yellow can, I've had pretty good results. If it's the silver can, I can't really say for myself, but I've heard more negative than positive about it. |

| Yeah it's the black and silver can, I think it said professional formula. I haven't purchased anything yet any suggestions. |

| I'd say if you can get your hands on the yellow can of Minwax sealer, try that out. I think the silver can is a newer low VOC sealer that just doesn't work as well for lure making applications. I know guys also like the Minwax Spar, or the Deft. I've also talked to guys that like mixing 50:50 spar urethane with mineral spirits, but haven't tried that out myself. I've been using propionate for a while now, but that is seeming harder and harder to find.

| I think the first question is what type of wood? |

Location: Glen Ellyn Il | The best sanding sealer that I found and have used for years for all kinds of wood is DEFT, the salt water builders use it. Deft its a little higher in cost than other, but it works great. I get mine through Amazon

| If you have the time, tough to beat tung oil or Waterlox marine sealer. Use a sanding sealer as a final coat for primer adhesion. |

| If it were my choice I would stay away from poplar, once the water gets to it, it will swell. Your sealer will not go deep enough. |
