Headed up to Kenora in a week, last year there was some unwelcome construction north of Nestor a Falls area that added to the ride. How is route 71 looking these days? Appreciate any info

Location: Mound, MN
There is considerable construction around the Nestor Falls area right now, including numerous places where the road is down to one lane and other gravel patches where you'll probably want to slow down while towing a boat. I didn't pay very close attention, but would estimate it added 20-30 minutes to the travel time. We didn't travel much north of Nestor Falls, so I can't speak to any construction closer to Kenora.

Was up at Nestor Falls last week. South of Nestor they have put in alot of new culverts. Have temporarily patched over them(very rough), they are going to put new blacktop over the entire road this summer/fall. So at some time there will be one lane traffic and follow cars, not sure when that is happening. Make sure you slow down for all the new culvert areas, your boat and it's contents will thank you.

Drove both moose alley and thru nester a couple weeks ago as we went to vermillion bay. Nester route is way better this year construction west of fort Francis was terrible.
