| Are you in w Virginia. If so, there's gotta be lots of little saw mills around and maple is abundant. Why buy online? Shipping wood is expensive. |

| I'm in WV and there are plenty of saw mills around. Most mill lumber is rough cut, I have limited tools due to lack of space. I was wanting something that was plained or smooth sided. |

Location: West Virginia | If you are wanting to make gliders and if you're not stuck on maple try poplar or cedar. Both can be picked up at any Lowes. |

| Id still call on one of your local lumber mills. ask for S4S maple. I'm sure they have a jointer and planner to make S4S. of course surfaced lumber costs more but I bet its still cheaper than the big box store 3/4" inch stuff they sell. If your looking for a small amount to make a few quality glides, I have a s4s piece of Honduras Mahogany heartwood that may interest you. its good stuff. its 8/4 though. |
