Hi guys, I have built a few globes and other baits and am looking for advice on building a flaptail. Would cedar be a good choice? Why do I see them made with the long stiff wire out the front? For action? Does anyone know where to get quality blades/tails? Should they be attached with a swivel or just a split ring? Would appreciate hearing personal trial and error stories. I have had plenty of my own while experimenting. Thanks

MOores lures, or RH has blades, or you can make your own.

THe front wire stabilizes, Balances, and helps lure run true, and can be used to adjust lure.
