Mike is that iridescent paint around the eyes? I see JD put some iridescent glitter on. Nice touch... I've noticed in a lot of real loon pics, most have iridescent colors around the head and neck.

Yes, it's blue above the neckband. I’m always experimenting with different colors trying to capture the iridescence of a loon head.  I’ve used iridescent paints, color shift paints, and the pic above is a new CandyO2 paint I tried called ultraviolet.  It’s hard to tell from the pic, but in-hand the metal flake base shows much better.

I’ve been planning to try a mallard pattern; I love the green iridescence of their heads
