Hey everyone,

I'm dont post as much anymore, but wanted to pass along some sad news I heard yesterday. Kevin Dunn (MuskyHopeful as we affectionately knew him here) passed away this weekend. For those of you that had the pleasure to talk, fish, or just banter back and forth with him, you know what a great man he was. It breaks my heart to know that he's left this world way too soon. I can only hope that his wife and daughter can be helped in their grief knowing how many lives he made better by his presence. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to know him over the years, and hope that he is joking around up in a better place. Rest in peace my friend.

For this that may be interested, his wake is going to be on Thursday at Church and Chapel in Waukesha/Pewaukee from 4-7pm with a service following at 7pm. The address is 380 Bluemound Rd.

Very sorry to hear. He was always great to have around here, and even better in person.

Hope he's making pizzas for the big guy upstairs.

Wow ... hate to hear that. We were just talking about him downstairs around the Masters Tournament time-frame. The last few years he was really busy helping his daughter Gracie who has become one of the best WI. State High School golfers these past few years. I'm guessing she was a senior this year or next.

Sorry to hear the news.

remember the great debate with he and Norm at the Skyview about 10 years ago or maybe more ... "is it how you throw it? or where you throw it?? ..."

Of all the guys I have ever known through this site, Kevin was one of my favorites. The banter leading up to the first Presque Isle outing was almost as entertaining as Kevin was in person. Just an all around good guy and funny to boot. #*^@ shame. Anybody know what happened?

I met Kevin at the Milwaukee musky show a few years ago. Great person and very sad news. If he indeed makes a pizza for the man upstairs, it will be the best one he ever had.

Yes, Sled...and they carried on in the parking lot after the bar closed..........a classic muskie fishing trip memory!

God Bless!

As an unabashed muskie novice, Kevin's enthusiasm during a relatively small time window of muskie pursuit was very real. That is memorable in and of itself, but it also gave him an ability to keep things in perspective and entertaining.....even after his muskie shine wore off. When winternet and/or all things muskie absurdity reared their heads, his comments were great. Look some of them up.

RIP, "Hopeful."

Joel,

It was a heart attack. Was fine all day, wife left the house for a few hours and came back to find him. Very sad situation. Good man.

His daughter Gracie, is a sophomore on the Butler University golf team. Great player.

Horrible news. I believe it was me Kevin and Sled in the parking lot in Presque Isle until God knows when, hashing over the subtleties of working a bait. Hopeful was one of the most entertaining people I have ever had the opportunity to share my boat with.

Your right Steve, this sucks.

Kevin was one of the reasons I logged on to this site years ago. The fact that I will never see another post from him downstairs truly bums me out.

I remember fishing one with him. We got 3 fish in about 20 minutes near the end of the day. They were all caught suspended, and all were 33-33/12" bastages. We had a great time though, and his m1st write up was awesome. That first year, we caught 6 Muskies up to 47.5"s. He definitely had some mojo. They were always caught when we we're talking about our wives and kids.
