Four of us from southern Wisconsin are heading up tomorrow. We're staying a night in northern Wisconsin, then heading to the outing. Looking forward to another great time on the water and at the fire.

Tomorrow will be one long day at work. Stopping at Thorne Brothers on the way up on Wednesday. I've only got a few dozen lures that I haven't caught fish on, what's a couple more. 4 of us from central Iowa should hit Spring Bay after lunch, hope to get out a little bit before the first fireside chat. Can't wait!

Spoke with 2 guys yesterday who have been fishing big baits poorly for a week. They said they didn't see a single fish until they began throwing small baits yesterday morning, mostly bucktails, and then they scored 8 follows and put a mid 30's in the net. They were extremely bummed that they landed on a successful presentation on the last day of their trip.

Jerome may be creepy, and a clown, but I don't think his truck is brown.

Wisconsin will be in da house sometime after Noon. Our partners blew a tire, so that set us back a bit. A clown with white hair, that was driving a brown Ford pick-up, stopped to help change the tire!

Git yer motors runnn' because a fresh batch 'o pie is riding shotgun with me for the campfire! Be careful, that ol' pie gremlin will sneak up on your back & whack you
in the head when you're not looking! Be warned!

See you soon!

Louie,

You may not be the "best" Muskie fisherman I know, but you're #*^@ close. As far as being a Fire ring & drinking God, you are LEGENDARY!

Alrighty, another Fall outing in the books. Jimmy Furley and I had another great time with 2nd timer Scot "One T" Marquardt and "Newbie" Joe Marino. Not to mention hanging with a bunch of all around good eggs. I'm not a great Muskie fisherman, but I've walked beside a few at this outing. Most of those great Muskie fishermen were at the fire ring at night. Among the stories and jokes there is a lot of Muskie fishing lore to digest. Made some new friends an re-connected with some old friends. I guess that 1 gallon of Apple Pie isn't enough, so next year there will be 2 gallons. This year's Fall outing was by far the best fishing that we've ever had in the 3 years we've been in attendance. We saw more fish, we boated more fish and we explored new territory with promising results.

Again, hats off to the Amundson Family for the awesome hospitality, location and accommodations. Can't thank you enough! Jerome those ribs and brisket were off the hook. Some of the best that I've tasted. Louie, as always, good to see you. You always make me laugh. Steve Worral, way to lead our other Muskie fishermen astray and give them the Crappie bug!

Sorry for being so long winded, so I'll see all you farging corksoakers next year. Until then stay safe and keep your lines tight!

I too would like to thank MuskieFirst and Spring Bay Resort. It was a great time with a bunch of great people. Our boat had a lot of action one afternoon on suckers, we had 8 hits on meat in just a few hours, but unfortunately, it was hungry pike and not muskies. We boated pike up to 33 inches. We had a nice blow up and short fight using a Reef Hawg along a rocky shoreline, and a nice follow to the boat from a 45-inch class muskie (casting a floating Salmo sucker crank bait) on a weed edge. We saw a 48-inch muskie caught next to us (outside weed edge in channel). He was using a black and silver bucktail. We had a heck of a fish fry (crappie) one night, and great times around the fire. So all in all a successful trip. We're already looking forward to next year.
