Awesome! Can you imagine what that would be like to be in that boat? Can't wait to hear the story.

By the way, I'm hoping that if the men in that boat ever read what we say, like they might actually care, this would represent what we'd actually say to their faces.

57 or 60 .... wouldnt matter to me...I'd gladly like to catch either one. Some days a 40 is great! Hell, even a follow some days is a win. Why does anyone care enough to post criticism how big a fish is outside of the guy/gal who caught it???? Cant you just be happy to see a guy,,, in this case an 84 yo angler catch a dandy of a fish? 90% of us wont be around for such an accomplishment as his or if we are, wouldnt have the ability to do it... Thats a fish of a lifetime for most and most never get to see that size fish in the net.

Beautiful fish, bigger than anything I've hooked and likely bigger than anything I'll ever hook. I'll be lucky if I can pull in bluegill at that age, good for him!

We'll all be lucky to just make it to 84 years of age, much less take a fishing trip to Canada if we do.

What an accomplishment for the angler, no matter the age, no matter the length. That thing is a monster. Don't think anyone can deny that.

Atta way Grandpa! Who ever you are...

1. Really, really nice big fish
2. happy for the the gentleman who caught it. Im confident it made his day, week, month, year.
3. does it matter the length of the animal or who suggested how big it was? if so, why? really?
4. refer to 1 and 2

A true giant and conquered by some "old guy" brethren out of what could be an early crestliner. Larry or others, please confirm crestliner model when convenient.
Canadian perhaps?..

This guy has inspired me. After finding myself in the upper 6% in that thread about "Muskie Fisherman's Age" awhile back I was revaluating why I'm still doing this. After seeing that pic and that SMILE I remembered why and I still have 20 years to go - - - -

Nope, not a Crestliner, but rather a Naden 1986 model, serial number 10494320.

For what it's worth, Nadens look very crestliner-like.

I guessing they've already seen it or a friend showed them the other thread, I stand by what I said in the other thread. Its a beautiful super tanker fish, congrats on getting her into the boat! Yeah, I'm sure they've already spoken with Larry R. and he has more details. All that matters is the photo, the fish and the two men holding her, a great photo!

Have fun!

That is a massive fish indeed! I heard of a second photo of that fish with a vertical hold. Has anyone seen that one or know where to find it?

Rich Clarke has one on his site...he is one of the few I'd actually believe without seeing it on a bumpboard

OK, after a little searching I found another shot. You are right, the poor old guy would get ripped to shreds on this board! Yes, it was 57 inches! Still happy for the guy. A fish of a lifetime.

Okay. So it's 57". How may of you can raise your hand and say you've caught one bigger? And even so, how old are you? I gotta tell 'ya, if I get to that age upright, and can even handle a 40"er, I'll be thanking my lucky stars.

I can imagine what it was like in the boat that day. It was probably dead quiet between when they first got a look at it and when it was actually in the net. After that? Wow.

I don't care if it's 57" or 58" or 60". Any fish you need two guys to hold is a fish of a lifetime!

Brad: I have 43 listed in my book both verified and (most) unverified. I know of three others I trust as well. Don't have the pics on this computer. They exist but usually aren't real heavy.

Thanks Larry. Should you ever get the photos online it would be great if you could share them. It would be great to finally see a "no BS 60" !

You know, you might be on to something there. At times I've thought the same thing but have serious doubts it will ever happen. Even me, if I was blessed enough to catch a fish like this Gentleman did would want a measurement and a picture of me with it. So....

Human nature, I guess.

Without a bump board pick, we will rip every fish to shreds that claims a length, that's how we roll!
