Reservations made and can"t wait to get the boys on the water. My thoughts are that the tourney would be better attended if it was on Sunday instead of Monday for us that must travel far. The kids are gonna be toast after fishing all day, drivin home 700 miles and attending school the next morning. Have tried to get some others involved without luck because of this. Just my thoughts...

What's up with not being allowed to troll in this tourney? If the guys from down there plan on making it fair they need to allow trolling.

Great to see the interest. Columbus day Monday was selected on Kinkaid Lake because no school sports or other fishing tournaments are held that day.
We know that it is a long way for some, but the lake is only about 300 miles south of Chicago. This is an Illinois High School event.
700 miles would put you in another state unless you are counting round trip travel.
If there is interest in your local area we would be glad to share with you any information to form another event closer to your home.
Good luck if you come. It will be one of the hottest times on Kinkaid Lake.

When our committee setup the rules for the IL high school muskie tournament trolling was not allowed because it puts the advantage into the captains hands and not the students. If you want to troll in a tournament on Kinkaid Lake come during the Chapter's muskie tournament being held the Saturday and Sunday prior to this event. Trolling is allowed in that event.

Jim: Round trip will be around 700 miles from the il/wis state line. No trolling or live bait is a good rule to follow. Looking forward to it!

To date 3 high schools have signed up to fish this event: Marion, Salem and Hampshire.

Is your high school registered?
