Posts: 81 | Interesting story about both of my biggest bass. A few springs ago, I lost a mid forty inch musky at the base of the tree. Two cast later at the end of the same tree, the smally ate my double 8 bucktail. Both fish on the same tree! She measured 21" This past fall, Cast to the base of a tree and boom a 25.75" largie eats my double cow girl. Next cast to the same tree I catch a 51" in the 8! Not, sure what she weighed, but some have told me probably 8 or 9lbs. Ahh, who cares about green carp!

It was about 22 to 24 inch fish and 4 or 5 pounds, his mouth was so big the topwater was sideways in his mouth.Great way to start the day!

Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | Two years ago on opener I was using my buddy's grinder spinner bait popping through weeds and I just saw this giant mouth open and crush my bait. I thought MUSKY!!!! but no, just a 24" Pig of a large mouth. My guess on weight would be close to 8, maybe 7.5? not sure all I know is it was cool to watch it hit the bait as hard as it did

Got a picture?!" So funny! I must admit i was disappointed when i realized that the fish on my line wasn't a musky. But when I realized it was by far my best bass (previous record was 5#) I soon forgot I was even targeting muskys! I just love catching fish, any kind of fish, but muskys are the ''icing on the cake'' and I spend most of my time on the water trying to find the icing!!!!!!!

Posts: 2691 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Lots of giant smallmouth and some huge largemouth bass while muskie fishing. 24" Largemouth Bass on Shelbyville while prefishing PMTT. 23" Smallmouth Bass during PMTT on Cave Run. 24.5" Largemouth Bass on Pewaukee Lake last year trolling. 7 smallmouth over 22" Last year on Pewaukee trolling muskies. Lots of big bass in my years fishing muskies. Always a let down once you know its a bass but some were so impressive it made me smile after I got my hands on them. Bonus fish happen from time to time. Its seems to happen during bass tourneys and the bass guys can't believe what you just caught that 6# plus bass on. Had guys offer me money for a bass during one big Budwiser tourney. Tossed it in toward their boat and said catch it legally yourself!!!

Posts: 265 Location: McGuire AFB, NJ | When Matt and I were field testing the Nutbuster Jr I took a few out to Clear Lake California to see if the bass would eat them....needless to say they did!!!! Caught this 8 and 5 on the first day fishing them. Couple of the most violent bass strikes I've ever experienced. I've have some 27lbs+ days on them since. Kinda kept it quiet though haha! Posts: 609 Location: Seymour, WI | Was fishing the musky alliance tourney a couple of years ago on Big Twin. It had been storming and blowing all day and I was sure a musky was going to snap. I was working an Awaker surface bait accross the tip of Holiday bar when a 21" smalley ate it. I yelled for the net as soon as the fish hit. As I reeled the fish in to the boat I was pretty disappointed to see a bronze back instead of a big white mouth.

Posts: 44 | I have caught my largest smallmouth bass (21 inches), largest walleye (29 inches), largest pike (39 inches), largest catfish (just under 36) and my first, only and largest inland brown trout (21 inches) casting musky baits. The trout was the biggest surprise, followed by the walley that hit right at the beginning of the figure eight. Wierd stuff!

Posts: 187 Location: West Metro, MN | I am a little late to the game on this thread, but I had to include my Dad's smallmouth double up on Mille Lacs a few years ago. He landed a 21" and 20.5" smallie on the same cast when they hit at the same time. Thought he had a muskie the whole way. 41.5" of smallmounth on one cast has to be some kind of record somewhere...
