That's cool. I threw a double 10 with a H Predator for a bit and it flung them out there with ease.

Those with the XH, what else do you like it for? Is it a pretty good Mag Dawg rod too? How about throwing double 10's? Does it do pretty well with them or is it a little stiff for that?

Aside from my 7'6" Rod that I use for WTD/jerk baits, I use my XH for throwing everything else and I would say that double 10's, 13's, and Mags are the perfect baits to be throwing with it.

Ahh it was only a matter of time in this thread before the TI cult chimed in as they do in every rod post...

You mean like how Tranx and Predator people show up in every thread and blow posted budgets out of the water? I've never owned a TI rod but people are clearly passionate about them and it's never a bad idea to save money.

I have 2 TI rods, they are nice for the $$$$ but Im in the market for a really nice rod. Big Dawg is what I want but now you guys got me thinking predator. What to do what to do lol.

Hey Mike,
If you are looking into really treating yourself you should look into having Tuscarora Tackle build you a custom rod on a SC blank!! Jeremy also has Predator blanks in stock to build on too. Usable art He has built me about 10 rods and every one was incredible and the attention to detail was fantastic.

Thanks James! I will absolutely check them out.

Yes it is about Predator rods, but that wasn't the point I was making now was it? At the end of the day it’s a thread about rods, and the person who made the original post about looking at TI rods may have thought they were doing the OP a favor by potentially saving them some money. Just as those who bring up Predator rods in non-Predator threads think they are doing the OP a favor.

As I said before, I really like my Predator XH for double 10’s, double 13’s, regular and mag dawgs, and Big Mama prop baits. I throw double showgirls and buchertails with it as well, and while it throws them pretty decently, I can’t really feel them on the rod. I also throw 8” Slammer crankbaits with it and it performs about the same as with double showgirls and buchertails. I might pick up some Dadson double 8’s just to see if the extra weight makes much of a difference. I’ve thrown a few pounder sized baits with it and personally I was a little disappointed because it felt just like the XH Mojo Musky I had last year and I probably only get about 60% of the distance I get on a magdawg. The XXH might be a better dedicated pounder rod, but as I wanted 1 rod for everything but WTD/Jerk baits, the XH was the right choice IMO.
