Hey guys I'm looking at a new rod, I want to keep it at 8'6" because I will be using it for bulldawgs, phantoms, suicks and hellhounds on it aswell. The biggest rubbers I throw are mag dawgs and medusas. I have a TI rod now for my blades but I don't know if I should get XH or XXH for dawgs and jerk/glide baits. Or if you have any other rods you can reccomend. I don't have money for the st. Croix big dawg. Thanks

TI XXH or Premier XH will probably work for you.

Do you think the ti xxh will be overboard for jerk/gliders

Tackle Industries 86 or 9 XH for reg and mag dawgs or a TI XXH for mag and pounder dawgs. I also like the TI 7 or 76 XXH for jerkbaits.

I would like to use both the jerk/glidebaits and mag dawgs on one rod if possible

It is possible. I'd go with the XH.

I'd go with the TI XH rod for that. I throw just about everything other than Pounders on mine, which I use the XXH for.

TI 76 XH would be a nice all purpose rod for you.

I like the 7'6 for the jerks but I think it would be a tad short for the bulldawgs and medussa

An XH will work for what you are looking to throw, you will need to determine what the best length for you is. There are plenty of people that use 9’ rods as jerkbait rods and pleanty who use 7’6” rods to throw dawgs and medussas, but it comes down to personal preference. Maybe an 8’ rod would be a good compromise.

I have the TI 9ft XH and XXH and a Premier 8ft XH. The TI XXH does everything great followed by the St Croix 8ft XH. For some reason I cant launch any bait as far with the the TI XH, It just not load up as good but nice rod all around. They will all work with jerk/glide baits but my 7'6" premier MH works better.

No, the TI XXH is not too much rod for jerks/gliders. It will throw some light baits.

I'd go 8'6" TI XH. Use the same reels on the 9' rods as you would a 7 1/2' rod.
