Anyone been chucking the new Lake X top water lures or the 1st strike baby beavers? Saw these lures at the shows this winter, but haven't heard any reports. Maybe everyone is tight lipped for a reason. They were asking a little much for em, in my opinion. 40 - 50 bucks for a lure seems kinda crazy, but I would probably pay double that if it upped my fish percentage at all.

I avoided lake x because of the they arent done in epoxy but love the big profile they get from being so wide just a personal preference I guess. I like American hardwood minis and i think my cap on speanding is about 35 bucks for something that will last not soft plastics.

Why do you need to seal the plastic with epoxy????

Were they always done in plastic? If so then musky nut is right no epoxy needed.

I got one of the beaver baits...first cast was a backlash and the beaver tail broke off. Still looks like a great bait but didn't like the price tag...especially after what happened!

Used a little beaver on opener and had a mid 40 inch fish swoop up on it. Haven't used it alot thou. My buddy caught a couple of nords on it. No skis yet.

Is that a serious question? All the paint disappears off the bait without epoxy.
