Posts: 1425 Location: St. Lawrence River | So the new Mini Baby Beav is an awesome bait for fishing the smaller tribs up here.. but the hook that is molded into the tail is super wimpy.. my question is has anyone put the Standard Baby beav tail on a Mini Baby beav? I ordered a couple.. maybe Budrow can chime in here..

Posts: 409 Location: Almond, WI | Everyone I know upsizes the tails to an XL on the standard. Not sure if any of the guys have tried the standard on the mini yet, they are new yet and season isn't open in the northern half of this state. I bought a couple standard tails for minis at a show and the owner said "Ah, you like to upsize the tails" so I assume there isn't a problem. It should make the drop slower.

Ours has yet to start as well.... this weekend on the tribs, couple more weeks for the big river.

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | Very interested in this topic as I really like the Beaver. Does this lure flop around(swim) as well or better with the larger regular sized tail? Just curious, as I know my regular sized are sensitive to tail orientation and weighting in terms of how they swim. Not sure if SFP, and not to sound anthropomorphic, but I do have seemingly more success with the beavers that have more action in the tail. Thanks much.
