I am thinking about getting an Okuma Komodo 463p. I see it has a three year warranty and I am wondering if anyone has any Okuma warranty experience? What does it cover? Do they charge for warranty work?
Thx

Why don't you email Okuma? They should know and can tell you.

Okuma customer service is great! Should be able to call them from the number on the website.

No experience personally, but I've heard that it's really good. Rod warranty claims, for example, only require you to cut the 4" section of the rod with the serial # and mailing that in. No saving 9' rod tubes.

The 463 is my new favourite.
Don't poo poo the double paddle unless you're a powerhandlefantothebone.

Okuma customer service is the better than the experience I have had with Shimano and all others.

I haven't used Okuma stuff for a while, but at one time it's about all I had in my boat. I was always impressed with their customer service.

I haven't had to warranty my Okuma reel but did warranty an Okuma EVX rod that I broke on a sturgeon. All I did was call them & they had me cut the piece of the rod that had the model & serial numbers on it & mail it in a padded envelope (less than $2 to ship) & had a new rod in about a week.
