Hey guys,

I had an unfortunate incident the other day. I managed to snag a beaver (yes a real beaver) on a hellhound. I tried to get him to the boat and unhook him, but he chewed through the leader. In a last ditch effort to get the hooks out of him I netted him and cut the hooks out, however as one would guess, while I was working on the hooks in his back leg he was gnawing through the net in the front.. He put several large holes in the bag and I am now in search of a replacement. Beckman is out of business, but thought I would be able to possibly substitute another brand bag. My current Beckmann hoop is 34x36. Thoughts/suggestions? I figure this is at least worth a good laugh if nothing comes from it haha. Thank you,
NathanH

I think folks have been using Drifter bags. XL for your net might be the ticket.

From what I've read the bags are easily replaced with another brand, just find one that fits the general hoop size and you're good to go.

Yup to Nathan an' Espy. I just replaced my heavy Frabil Kahuna w/a Drifter XXl. Match the size and you're good to go...

He was actually pretty calm once I got him in the net. Probably because he was busy chewing through my net while I was cutting the hooks out. haha

Surprisingly strong fighter when he got some steam under him...

Thanks for all of the replies guys! I tried using a soldering iron to melt the net back together and it looks like it will work pretty well. If a monster breaks through one of those holes I'll be beaver hunting that weekend. haha

Just replaced my older beckman with a large light weight predator from drifter just a tad smaller than the xl which fits it nicer

I'm not sure I'd trust a net that's been "melted" back together. Use some heavyweight cable/wire ties to reconnect the uncompromised sections of the net and maybe cut out the melted area. It should hold up for a long time.
