i picked up a 97 681vs from colorado with a 1997 135hp mercury 2 stroke carb engine, im not sure what main jets are in it but i think they might be different due to the elevation change from Denver to Minnesota, i think they are suppose to be .086" mains but i dont know for sure. Is there any engine gurus here that could steer me in the right direction? maybe some side work or something? running out of funds to take it in at $120hr+. I dont want to run it lean and melt some pistons or something else.

thanks in advance for your time

Get your serial number, and plug it in here.

There are three(I think) different jets in the carb. I'll try to find out what the standard configuration is for this area of the country.

i took the attenuator off last night, it has .086 main and .036 on either side of the main jets. the plugs looked a black and gummy a little on some, and i noticed all the plugs that came off the right side head all had oil/gas in the plug hole, while the left side did not except maybe one had a tiny amount, not sure what that means. I had a boat inspection done in Colorado and they said it had 4-6% leakdown on all the cylinders and was in great shape.
