My two HB units have horizontal lines on SI and vertical lines on DI. These lines are about 1/8" apart. Was driving me crazy with the money spent on the two units. To make a long story short was getting interference. Run a tiller with both units in back and the transducers in either side of motor. Turn off sonar on one of the units and lines go away on the other. This does not make me very happy. When I'm searching for fish I like to run SI and DI at the same time. Just sent a not to HB. Anxious to hear what they have to say.

It is interference you should be able to adjust the sonars some for noise rejection. i ran into this when running two si ducers 10" apart on my jack plate good news for me was I just turned off the si on the lowrance and kept the bird on. I was able to lower some settings and make it bareable but my final suggestion to you would be run si and a di screen on the same unit just adjust the screen split to made di smaller and run mapping on the other. Also on my 999 I was able to make my si images wider there is a option to have the information blocks on or hidden... But when there on setting the screen split left all the way only make the si screen about 3/4 " smaller. Then on the other sonar just run mapping , push and let go of the power button, turn sonar off and your set.

Was thinking of moving the 859 to front of boat with the transducer up there too.
Hopefully that will be far enough away for now interference.

It will be so minor if there is any but there shouldn't be, si and di are razor thin beams not like a 2d cone. The thin beams go straight left and right.

Cant you run the SI and DI at the same time off the same transducer? I do it on my 899 and 859. In fact I run the SI on my non SI unit but this might be due to the ethernet hub connecting the units. Seems like you could just network them to the same transducer and put SI on one and DI on the other. I run SI and DI or a map on my front unit and the wife likes to see SI and the map from the back where she fishes. I do switch to the transducer on the trolling motor when Im looking for depth changes not shown well on the map.

Yes I can split the screen for DI and SI.
I just like the big screen for SI.

SI and DI are the same image on Bird units anyways. There is no dedicated DI transducer so what u see on DI is actually a rotated SI image. So really if you just run SI then it is the same thing - sideways.

Not quite the same image but if the humminbird hub allows you to get di off of the si ducer that would be ideal

I dont mean split screen. I mean I can run SI big screen on one unit and DI big screen on another unit using the same transducer. With the ethernet hub I can even put the SI image on the non SI unit. You might even be able to get away with not using the hub and just networking the two units. I needed the hub to run the terrova Ipilot +.

This is correct. Any units networked, either with an ethernet hub or just a 2 units connected with a single Ethernet cable, can share waypoints, trails, external GPS info, and transducer views. So, link a SI unit to any other unit and you will have SI, DI and 2D on the other unit.

I have the exact same two units... If i get the Ethernet cable between them, will they also be able to share one Lakemaster chip?

Each unit needs separate lake chips

Only the Onix units will allow map chip sharing.

Is either of the transducers a dual frequency 455/800? If so, switching the frequency of one so they are operating at different frequencies should help and not require any additional hardware.
