| After 5 years of building lures that basically suck, this spring I have finally made some that are productive. They are hand carved from northern white cedar. Sorry about the flash in the images, I am not the best photographer. The eyes are convex and mirror-backed so the pupil size and shape changes as the lure moves. They are hard thumping and run 3-6 feet deep depending on version. "White Bling" at the bottom is a seasoned veteran than hunts on the cast. Posts: 2004 | That bottom one looks familiar..  I fish with So IL, aka "My Name is Merle!", when I can make it to Kinkaid. One of the nicest , most modest guys you'll meet. He has made a lot of progress on his baits, thanks to his own determination and feedback from guys on the board. He even gave me a beautiful one the first time we went out, but now wants it back to tweek it some more... That White Bling ones is simply awesome. I fished with another buddy, and Merle fished alone by us, and Merle let Mike try it out. Mike was really impressed and talked about it later. Great job Merle! | ||

| Just got in from the lake. One very timid follow and an ugly close encounter with a great blue heron that was intent on eating my bait. If anyone else was out there I was the one yelling frantically, waving my arms and at the same time reeling as fast as I could. Todd, one of the new ones has a very steep angle on the bill and only dives to about 12". I was having fun working "stumpy" through pockets in the milfoil until its progress was interrupted abruptly by a lmb. JD, I will do my best to post video but I usually have an inordinate amount of difficulty when it comes to that. JB I don't know if I would recommend going to the basement. Bait making may be an even worse obsession than muskie fishing. Jason, do you need another bait? Always great to fish with you! Thanks to all for the kind comments.
