What does everyone use for coiled .051 wire ? or for .062 ?
Should I get the Dubro product ? Or can I do it manually using a drill and
pliars ?
Any assistance would be most appreciated - thanks

I have a question for guys that have tried the technique demonstrated in the referenced youtube video. What diameter hole in the wooden stick works best for 0.051 inch diameter coiled bucktail wire? Many thanks.....

Just guesstimating here but how about 1/16" drill hole for .051 and maybe 1/8" drill hole for .062?

just a smidge bigger than the wire. It works good for me using spring tempered stainless wire. I use a much longer board than in the video when I make 18-20" pieces from a 10" diameter coil as the wire whipping will gash your hand in a instant.

It's ironic that you mentioned using a fairly long piece of wood. I tried it today and whacked the back of my hand pretty good. I gained about a dozen scratches/cuts within about one second. I was going to try a longer piece of wood, but got to wondering what the hole diameter should be for the wooden stick.

Thanks for the suggestions. I wish now that I talked to you prior to giving it a try!
