Thinking of taking a quick 3-4 day trip to Sioux Narrows in September/October.

I can make it to Sioux Narrows in 6 hours from my house. I've fished all over LOTW just never in this area.

Is there good musky fishing right in Long Bay that Totem Lodge is in? I know it's like 10 miles out of Long Bay to the main lake.

Or am I better off staying elsewhere in Sioux Narrows so I can have easier access to more water rather than being stuck 10 miles down Long Bay at Totem Lodge?

What's the population of muskies like around Sioux Narrows?

Thanks - Ball Cap

I see that no one has answered this. Long Bay is a very low population area of the lake. Need to get futher west to around Yellow Girl Point and west and north before you run into many fish. There are fish in Whitefish Bay, but they can be hard to fool as the water in very clear. Even there the population isn't as good as in the dark water areas of the lake. Beautiful area of the lake, and some very good lake trout fishing at times. Totem is very nice!

Thanks Doug. That's kind of what I figured.

Crow Lake is another option for you even though it's clear just like the woods there. Right on 71 outside of Nestor Falls the east side of the lake is pretty undeveloped no camps check out black bear fishing vacations Val's a good guy reasonable rates and it puts you right in the middle of Crow Lake and Lake of the Woods. Tell him Mike and Pat from Chicago sent you. Trolling is a good way to find fish on the islands and reefs.

Use Totem's Wylie Point lodge. It's close to excellent fishing! WP is about an hour boat ride from Totem. Launch at Totem and follow their boat to WP or ride on their boat and rent a boat at Wylie. WP is the total package: Excellent food, facilities and most importantly excellent muskie fishing. If you don't know the area hire a guide.

I just got home from Wiley. Loved it. Been fishing that area for years.

I was looking for something easy and drive to for a shorter trip.

Maybe I will have to hit Morson instead of Sioux Narrows or Nestor Falls.
