| Hey all,
Got out on the lake this weekend here were the conditions:
Water Temps: 76-82F Depending on the location (Over deep water vs. No wake zone leading to the backwaters). My kids report the thermocline is still very shallow (Less than 2') as does my 999.
Clarity: Lots of floating weed clumps and duckweed, overall murkier than usual.
Recreational boaters: Heavy Rec boat traffic. Be careful during the day, lots of ignorant Jackwagons getting way too close for comfort. (Including the ski boat that passed within 15' of me this morning...) Can also be dangerous later in the evening, saw a boat pulling a tube at high speed in the dark.
The Fish:
On a summer pattern finally, you'll have to work for them but when you get a window they are active.
Got 4 fish in 3 days, 33,35,40 and my PB of 51" - Pretty doggone happy about that.
Multiple follows and several missed lure strikes.
Here's a pic of the 40 and a net shot of the 51" -
I have a bump board vid of the 51, but it's NSFW, I didn't realize it was over 50 until I got it on the board and then got pretty excited about it.
The fish are still releasing strong with no signs of temp stress. If the weather stays hot, you may have to take a break for a while, but right now, they seem to be doing OK with the temps.
HTH,
RandalB
