I would try to avoid it if it was me honestly. Most places will be busy but if you travel a little and think outside the box you can find places that aren't so crowed. That's what we're doing this year anyway

I haven't experienced the Madison chain being overly busy to the point where you cannot fish. Wingra will be packed and I personally don't go there ever. Waubesa usually isn't terrible, maybe 10-15 boats out slinging baits but at least at this time of the year the wake board boats and pleasure boats aren't out in numbers. I would expect to see more panfisherman and walleye fisherman out... Don't let the crowds scare you off, just be respectful and you will be fine.

Heheheh. We did that a few times. It's fun if you know most of the guys out there.

The overcast skies allowed for a couple fish to get caught on Wingra. I got a 41" in my boat and a 33" was caught in a friends boat. We only had one other follow by a 33"-34" class fish. We figured it was due to the clearing skies. We left at about 2:00 with many other boats doing the same thing. Water temps ranged from 59.1 on the west to 62.2 on the east. Not as many boats on Wingra as there used to be a few years ago. The weeds have really put a damper on that lake's popularity. The cabbage was everywhere but unfortunately, it will continue to choke out as the season progresses.

we landed one 38in on saturday morning, and moved a 4 other fish between 6-930am. nothing after the clouds broke and the high pressure moved in. Hopefully I will get out again soon!... If anyone in the Madison area would like to get out, PM and we can set up a time to fish
