now that my son is off to college I find myself fishing alone alot....taking pix isnt the easiest thing to do by yourself.... the camera I have has a 20 second delay, not quite enough for my old bones. Is there a camera out there with a remote that I can step on to snap a pic...or what are others doing??

I use a timer app on my smart phone. I set it for a 10 second delay (time to get the fish out of net) and then it takes a pic every 2 seconds for the next 20. I get 10 stills and the fish is out of the water for less than a minute.

I use a 10 second delay. I unhook in the net, get my bumpboard set, put the camera on the casting deck and set the timer, grab the fish for one pic, measure and release. Occasionally the fish thrashes when I reach for it so I have to reset the camera, but the fish stays in the net in the water while I reset.

I'm sure there are remote options, I just don't know of any personally.

Why can't you just start video record on your phone, and then handle the fish...then stop the video when you're done? Then grab a few frames from the video footage as stills.

10 second delay and a tripod. I get a grip on the fish in the net with right hand. Reach over with left hand and push camera button. Lift fish up, wait for a few seconds, and back in the water in under 15 seconds.

I agree, this is my favorite way to do it. Plus you get a video.

I use a cell phone tripod ($13 online) and voice activated camera on my phone. It works really well for solo fishing trips.

An old Garmin GPS suction mount fits my Samsung S6 perfectly so I stick it to the boat windshield facing the rear of my boat. Voice activated photo feature works great.

Best way in my opinion. Some will say you lose picture quality, but they look fine to me.
