Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | All the talk all year long on the internets is great, but tonight your voice can count where it really matters. Please show up and support all things musky. Much like voting for the President, if you don’t vote you don’t really have a right to complain: Vote NO to question 93 and YES to all the others! WDNR RULE CHANGE ?s Do you favor making permanent the current 45-inch minimum size restriction on muskellunge in Little St Germain Lake in Vilas County? 57. YES _______ NO _______ WI CC Advisory ?s Would you support changing the 50” size limit for muskies on Pelican Lake in Oneida County to a 34” muskie size limit? 93. YES _______ NO _______ Would you support changing the regulation on the minimum musky size limit on Whitefish Lake in Sawyer County from 34” to a 50” size limit? 94. YES _______ NO _______ Would you support increasing the size limit for muskies on Lake Redstone in Sauk County from 40” to a 50” size limit? 96. YES _______ NO _______ And please find out what the local resolutions are going to be before you leave so you can vote on those also. If Musky guys would have stuck around in Oneida County last year question 93 would not even be in this years advisory questions, as we had enough guys at the meeting to vote it down early, but they didn’t stick around to find out what resolutions were going to come up. You should be able to ask at the meeting what resolutions are on the table so you know before the end of the meeting. Thanks Nail a Pig! Mike Edited by MRoberts 4/12/2010 9:47 AM

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | Thanks for making it easy guys. I'll be there tonight. Question though, if I'm just going to vote (and check out any local resolutions), so you have to do that right at 7, or can you do it anytime prior to the meetings end? Not sure I can get there right at 7 due to story time for the little ones. (sorry, can't miss some of the little things in life)

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | Hey all, just left the cc hearings and there are 2 question 93s on the ballots in Racine. There is a type-o on our ballots. I told the guys there so they're looking into it but double check to make sure you're voting right on those questions.

Posts: 44 Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | Waukesha was the same way, with ( 2 ) # 93 questions. The officers handing out the ballots were informing people of this and they also made an announcement at the beginning of the meeting so everything should be okay.

Just back from Langlade Co. (county bordering Oneida Co) Scott Kieper and I both spoke regarding Pelican Lake issue. I think we should do pretty well there.

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Mike and Norm did a good job holding up the emotional issues and making sure the vote went where it should. I'd say we did OK, judging from the applause after Mike spoke. Nice job guys.

Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | HUGE THANKS to everyone who showed up and voted and spoke. Lots of wives and kids also exercised their democratic rights. Hopefully this will be a dead issue after tonight. On the road the next three days so it will be interesting waiting for the vote to come in. Again THANKS!!! Nail A Pig! Mike

Posts: 25 | The issue regarding two 93's was not explained until after 93 was read in Horicon. Many people had written in a "4" where the second "3" was. They were then told that if there is a mark outside of the yes/no area that the question would be voided. Since earasing was not an option and nobady there wanted to redo the entire forum they data does not appear to be very accurate from the location I was at regarding question 94.

Posts: 1996 Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Another huge Thank You to all those that voted last night, especially those that showed up in Rhinelander. I am cautiously optimistic that we faired well! They can't post the results soon enough for me.

Posts: 1168 | It'll be rough in Shawano County. No one wanted to discuss anything to do with muskies at all. It was all EAB, hunting with rifles and the one woman who was worried that using atlatls would hurt feral cat populations.

Posts: 41 | Spoke to my game warden friend today and he stated that it would be listed on the DNR website on Wednesday. Somewhere under the "features" tab he said. I personally have not looked @ the website yet - so not 100% for sure. Hope this helps.

Posts: 999 | I copied and pasted this off the Muskyhunter site. Looks like GREAT news! Good news that I just received from Roger Sabota, MHM Field Editor and Wisconsin Conservation Congress delegate in Oneida County ... The proposal to remove the 50-inch limit on Pelican Lake and return the lake to a 34-inch limit was defeated in Oneida County 83-48. "Muskies, Inc., really showed up," Roger told me. It will be Wednesday before the statewide vote total is known. However, local votes are strongly considered when decisions are made. Congrats to all who worked so hard to fight this proposal. Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Cool. Looks like we lost state wide, but it was close. I wonder how many of those folks misunderstood the question and answered yes thinking they were supporting the 50" limit. The other Muskie size limit questions were heavily supported. Thanks to everyone who made the trip to vote. Folks who fish Pelican should now be secure Pelican will be managed for trophy muskies.

Posts: 714 Location: Rhinelander, WI | Regarding the State wide vote I think a lot of the yes votes can be directly related to the wording of the question. If no one was there to explain that there was actually no support from the Lake Association and Town of Schoepke or if no discussion was had it would be very easy for people to side with what they thought was local opinion. Even though NO SUCH LOCAL opinion exists, as shown by the vote in the County where all those locals could have shown up and supported the question. Again thank you all for voting. Mike
