I recently purchased a 2001 esox mag with a 60ph Merc 4 stoke. I have been fishing out of it for the last month and have absolutely loved the motor and boat. Yesterday I was out with my brother and kids fishing and had trouble planing out. The motor with four people, two of them young children, two adults, would almost not get up to plane with the throttle pinned. I am aware 4 strokes have minimal hole shot power but I was very surprised it was so under powered. Does anyone have similar problems? I am looking at a power prop to help with hole shot power. I will be fishing 3-4 adults out of it in a week when family gets up on vacation and would like to get it resolved if possible. An opinions if this would solve the issue or am I looking at a problem with the motor? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

What pitch is your prop? Stainless or aluminum?

Steve,
I'm not sure on the pitch. It is the stock prop, aluminum.

Get the Vengeance in a pitch lower, stainless.

What Steve said. I have the exact boat and motor with stainless prop 13 pitch. Fish three adults in it with no planning problems.
