My wife suggesting lotw but a six hour drive is not really ideal. I have time constraints. Can anyone recommend a guide service a little closer?

There are a lot of quality guide choices on http://www.muskieguides.com within 3 hours drive. Members include many great guides from the Metro, to Mille Lacs to Hayward!

As mentioned, it kind of depends upon where you are looking to fish in the metro area as a lot of guides fish just the east side or the west side, but not both. I recommend Matt Seifert of Musky Mercenary Guide Service, but in the metro he only guides east side lakes and the St. Croix River. A lot of the metro guides also guide Mille Lacs if you’re willing to head north a bit.
